I’m Steven, and this is my blog.
(How’s that for awkward?)
I’ve always loved travel and aviation. Ever since I can remember, my family has traveled. Whether it be summer road trips or a thanksgiving jaunt to Europe, we were a traveling family.
Walking through an airport terminal knowing that merely stepping through an ordinary doorway could put me anywhere in the country in just hours has never become old to me. Not only do I like to travel, I enjoy the pursuit of finding great accommodations without breaking the bank. After years of assembling itineraries, traveling, and contributing to review sites, I conceived the idea of combining two areas where much of my time is spent and created The Quality Traveler.
In years past, I’d save up money and book a trip after months (or years) of saving. However, in more recent years I’ve shifted to funding travel mostly with points and miles. Since then, I embraced a new hobby by accumulating points and hunting down the best redemption to embark on trips that I would otherwise never be able to afford. With each point earned I enjoy the pursuit of scouring websites for options that provide the most value — the highest quality for the least amount of points. It’s a thrill that makes the excitement of traveling start long before I walk out the door.
My goal with this blog is to inform you with tips and tricks that encourage you not to just travel, but to travel well without breaking the bank. I’ll share my experiences (through trip reports!) and personal opinions on news around the industry that have an impact on the way we travel.
